The negative publicity against the meat industry around the world is constantly increasing nowadays. Numerous documentaries and books that describe in detail the policy of the meat industry has led to massive dissatisfaction among people.

The video you are about to watch is a short part of the documentary “Samsara” and it provides important information about pork, poultry and cattle facilities, as well as about grocery stores. 

However, the video does not show animals exposed to violence and has no agenda. Mark Magidson, the producer, says that the video is more about the emotional rather than an intellectual experience. Moreover, he claims that they had no special intention of saying anything with filming it.  

According to the website of the film, Samsara means “the ever turning wheel of life” in Sanskrit, and the goal of the film was to present “the point of departure for the filmmakers as they search for the elusive current of interconnection that runs through our lives.” 

The documentary was filmed over 5 years, in 25 different countries. Its purpose is to show “how our life cycle mirrors the rhythm of the planet.”
