The scene of the tragic incident
According to Metro UK, a seven-month-old baby has been found dead in a hot car after his father apparently forgot about him when he went to work.
Justin Huynh was found in his father’s car on Friday night where he had been left for around 10 hours in Houston, Texas.
His dad had dropped off his two other children before heading to work for 9.30am. Justin is normally taken to another babysitter.
Temperatures in the area reached the mid-90s – around 32°C – but inside the car it would have been significantly hotter.
According to reports the mother called the baby’s father at around 7.30pm to ask where Justin was.
He went to his car where he found him unresponsive.
Dr Bob Sanbourn from Children at Risk told Click 2 Houston said: ‘We need to understand that cars can be killers and cars can be very dangerous when you combine them with heat. It’s kind of like being in a sauna.’
The boy’s father was arrested and held by police before being released pending an investigation.
