Huge amount in ransom has been demanded by abductors of a Nasarawa State businessman whose driver was shot dead in the ensuing kidnap operation.

Gunmen who had earlier abducted a businessman, Mr. Yaro Talle, and killed his driver in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have finally reached out to the family with their ransom demand.

It was gathered that shortly after kidnapping Talle, the assailants contacted his family to demand N30m for his release.

It was learnt that the gunmen, who stormed Talle’s filling station on Wednesday night in Keffi, shot sporadically into the air as they arrived the scene.

Many people who fled the scene during the attack sustained various degrees of injuries in the process.

An eyewitness, Mr. Rabo Mohammed, said that the gunmen shot the head driver of the station, Mr. Saidu Abdullahi, before whisking Talle away.

Mohammed said Abdullahi died instantly while several others sustained gunshot wounds.

The Police Public Relation Officer of the Nasarawa State Police Command, Kennedy Idirisu, insisted that the police were on the trail of the kidnappers and promised that they would not relent until the victim was released unhurt.

According to Idirisu, investigation into the incident has since commenced to ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and face the full wrath of the law.
